0xRxTx's My Computers

0xRxTx's Server Rack

This is a place where I try to keep track of all my computer hardware. Most of my computers are rack mounted, I have a 42U StarTech rack with my network equipment and all servers and my personal rig racked. I have a APC SMT2200R2X180 Smart-UPS 2200VA 1980W 120V UPS that powers it on a 20A circuit. Currently I have 1G Verizon Fios Internet as my uplink.

I get asked about the noise a lot as right now this rack sits in my office. I have been rather picky and selected cases/fans that are pretty quite for the most part. When I make the computers work it does get a bit loader but not crazy bad for the most part. Temperature is a bit more of a problem. The air can get a bit stagnant hot, so right now I have a box fan blowing at the rack to move the heat away which works pretty well. I do have some plans, I have to rebuild my shed anyways so I was thinking of making a small part insulated and put the rack in there. We will see.

Jack the Ripper

Jack the Ripper server

This machine is used to rip movies, TV shows, music, etc and archive it. It currently also hosts my Jellyfin server, though that will be moving to TheCore soon. It also houses my LTO6 tape drive for now, with a passthrough bracket for a SAS6 cable so that I can connect it to Apollo. I use MakeMKV and similar software to rip the disks, I plan on create some level of automation for this.

Network Equitment

This is my network stack right now, and yes I bought into the Ubiquity world, not sure if I regret that or not, sometimes I wish I was running Pfsense again. It gets the job done for the most part.
